Bonno and Luna
A native of Portland, Oregon, Bonno Bernard has been a writer, publisher, and brand consultant since 1984. She built her skills in product naming, slogans, copy writing, branding, and corporate cultural development during seventeen years at Odwalla, Inc. She has collaborated with a wide variety of companies and organizations, from small start-ups to Nike, Inc.
Bonno has a BFA from The Colorado College, with continued education in graphic design and botanical illustration from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In addition to writing and editing, she is well-versed in typography, graphic recording, design, and digital production. Her comprehensive skills and experience make her a valued resource for clients needing creativity, efficiency, smart content, quick turn arounds, and serial commas.
In addition to writing and design, Bonno has served in leadership roles within the Santa Cruz, CA community, including Development Director of Santa Cruz Waldorf School, and president of the Piedmont Court HOA.
On another note, so to speak, she was in a touring steel drum band for fifteen years, both headlining and opening for artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Ziggy Marley, The Mighty Sparrow, Kenny Loggins, Jimmy Buffett, Los Lobos, and Santana. She then switched to accordion and played European and Balkan music for several years. After that it was all Zumba all the time, which she taught for eight years.
Bonno now lives in a cozy cabin at Black Butte Ranch, near Sisters, Oregon.
